I finally found time to inaugurate my new monitor, a Dell 2407 widescreen 24” digital flatplanel. It is very nice. Especially after working for 10 years almost exclusively with a 14” laptop monitor. (The exception being photo editing, which I do with an almost as nice 20” widescreen monitor at home.) Not only are the colours much better than the screen of my Dell D620 laptop (so that photos don’t look grey and flat), but also it supports a 1920x1200 resolution, so that I can finally have a proper workspace. Don’t take my word for it; have a look at these screenshots (note that the width of the photo in the first screenshot is 1024 pixels):
